Our IT System Engineers are responsible for developing strategies for design, development, testing, implementation, backup and disaster recovery, and production usage for software application platforms for DEQ mission-critical applications. In this role, you'll:
- Craft the future of environmental technology: Design, develop, and implement mission-critical software applications.
- Leverage your skills in our diverse platforms: Microsoft .NET, Web Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), UI/UX, Moodle administration, REST APIs, Python, SQL queries and data reporting, ServiceNow (AppEngine, Forms & Reports), Oracle database administration, and GitLab.
- Become a security champion: Ensure application and database security standards are upheld and implemented.
- Deliver solutions that matter: Create software solutions for diverse needs across end-user, mid-tier, and web-based systems.

The IT System Engineer position includes a career ladder for professional development and pay progression.
Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with an emphasis on information technology and/or software application engineering. Relevant bachelor’s degree preferred. • Four (4) years job-related experience in software applications engineering or other closely related field of work. • Demonstrated ability to learn and master new technologies and tools as the role evolves, ensuring continuous improvement and adaptation to changing technical environments.
Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
